Line-up

Turn Back, the band's third studio album is an ode to the classic sextet structure and it was a more consistent, more powerful effort that had a more grittier edge. The more experimental sound of Turn Back was a reflection of the maturation in the group. Drummer Bobby Kimball's increased proficiency was evident in the vocals of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature. Keyboardist David Paich's work also was more refined, sharper and less cloned earlier performances.

After touring to promote their album, the group recorded an Amsterdam live concert that was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set entitled Falling In Between.
