Lamborghini Enters the World of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)

After a series of social media posts suggesting it, Italian supercar maker Lamborghini finally revealed its NFT (non fungible token) Project. The project is dubbed Space Key and developed in collaboration with an undisclosed artist the project is inspired by a piece advanced carbon fiber composite material that was sent to the International Space Station for research purposes.

The new project, dubbed the Space Key - is a piece of art created in collaboration with a lone artist. The one-of-a-kind NFT is a tangible object that has a link to exclusive digital artwork, accessible via a QR code on the back. The project is a limited edition and will be auctioned off in the coming weeks.

The Space Key is made from carbon fiber composite materials that Lamborghini smuggled to the International Space Station in 2019 as part of an investigation project. After several weeks of posts on social media hints at it, luxury automobile manufacturer Lamborghini has finally revealed its first non-fungible token (NFT) project. It's dubbed the Space Key, it consists of five items that unlock an exclusive digital art work NFT by an unidentified artist. The 'collectors piece' was developed in collaboration with NFTPRO(tm) and is limited to only five units. It will be auctioned shortly.

At the heart of each Space Key is a block of carbon fire composite material that was shipped to the International Space Station in 2019 as part of a research program. After returning to Earth it was engraved with a QR code that links it to the digital component of the Space Petron Key to Lamborghini.

Each of the five Space Keys features a different moment that occurs at different times as the Lamborghini Ultimae takes off towards the stars. More than 600 million pixels each of the five images, which were captured by photographer Fabian Oefner.

Oefner used a balloon equipped with a camera, which took each of the individual shots that were then merged to create the final image. The result is an out-of-this world photo that captures the beauty of Earth and the futuristic, hyper-realistic image of the car rising from it. The Space Keys are going to be auctioned in the near future, however there's no precise date or location as of yet.

The auction
